Rules

  1. EVENT SPONSORS, ORGANIZERS, PROMOTERS, STAFF, and anyone having anything to do with this event ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR SAFETY OR WELL BEING. We cannot stress this strongly enough; YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU!
  2. The “Ten Penny Gravel Growler” is not a USA sanctioned race, but is insured. No responsibility can be accepted for participants becoming lost, stranded, injured… or worse.
  3. Be courteous and respectful at all times. Participants must obey all city, county, and state laws, and “Rules of the Road”.
  4. The course will be marked prior to our event. We’ll also have marshals on the course. However, do not entirely rely on course markings or marshals. Use cue sheets, printed maps or the GPS of the route downloaded to your device.
  5. Each route will have checkpoints where riders must check-in. There will be a cutoff time based on 10 mph. Any participant not reaching a checkpoint before the cutoff time will not be allowed to continue. Cutoff times are established for the purpose of rider safety. Therefore, these times will be strictly enforced.
  6. Official checkpoints along the route will serve as neutral areas where event participants may meet their support crew to restock supplies and repair equipment. These checkpoints will be the only locations along the course where participants may receive assistance from their support crew.
  7. Support Crews are not allowed on course, except to pick up a rider who is abandoning the event. Alternate routes to checkpoints will be given to support crews.
  8. Participants are required to wear a properly approved helmet at all times while operating their bicycle.
  9. If you cannot or have trouble riding a steep hill or other part of the course stay to the far right so others can pass by while riding.
  10. Be careful and take care of yourself! Your safety is up to you. Bring plenty of food and hydration. Cellular service may not always be available but we highly recommend carrying a cell phone to contact someone in case of an emergency. Carry spare inner tubes and inflation system.
